Can India be a Developed Nation.......

India can definitely become developed nation. To be frank I am deeply convinced that the Great Indian Story has already begun. Why we consider a nation as a developed nation? What makes the nations Image as a developed nation? We think America,England, France, Germany, Russia, Japan Australia etc. are developned nations. So the concept is definitely related to the overall development of these nations in the field of Science and Technology, Industrialization, and maximum use of these high end technologies in every sphere of life which makes the common mans day to day life more comfortable. Secondly, the Institutions they have built in every field are dominating in world Arena. For example if you take Space Technology, immediately what comes first in our mind is NASA. In the field of Aircraft Building either it is civilian or military all the names are European or American. If you think of Educational Standards first few names are Cambridge, Howard, etc. Even in field of Bio-technology or Nano Technology , no doubt these countries are the world leaders. Infrastructure wise the bridges, the roads they have built are considered as models for the world. Political Institutions, Justice Systems, and their Administrative machinery are considered as the best in the world.
But whether these countries achieved this suddenly ? Surely not . After rampant Industrialization they have also faced so many problems as too much crowd gathered in the cities. No civil amenities, Pollution, Excessive pressure on Cities and Worker Movement etc. So it is a process thru which we also have to go.
But when we compare ourselves with them on merit, no doubt we are very fast in catching them. Just think about space technology, we have our ISRO. ISRO's failure rate is much lesser than the NASA. Last week we have launched Israel's spy satellite in the orbit. Israel itself is considered as leader in this field. It is such a field where nobody shares their strategic knowledge and technology. Is it not a sign of a developed nation. In a year or two we have our own Moon Mission. Except America and China nobody has even tried it yet, and we have already scheduled it. What does it indicate. We have launched our own built Satellites for different purposes. India is one of the first countries where Tele-medicine Program is Started. Doctors can check-up and advice a patient sitting in remote village via Satelite connection. Is it not use of high end technology for the common man's betterment.? Now about industrialisation. Some time back in some business magazine a survey of some Heads of European Multinationals was published. There was absolute consensus about fear of takeover by Indian Companies. Our companies are buying big multinationals. Tata is purchasing Chorus, India Born Milltal purchased Arcenal. The list is much long. Tata's Small Car "Nano" is the latest example how the high end technology is adapted to suit local market. It is threat for others that in other segments too, they can provide costly Cars at much cheaper rate. India is already a Small Car Hub for world market. It may become Hub for all types of Vehicles if things are moving on with such pace.
Our Political instituions are also not that bad as we see it. India is much diversified society that any other country in the world. So no doubt that we have fractured mandate. But the point here is even after that we have a stable central government and nearly consensus on our economic policies either under the leadership of BJP or Congress. Secondly the political reforms are visible. Booth capturing, bogus voting are reducing thats why Mulayam and Lalu have lost. We are using Electronic Voting Machines. Even America or any other developed nation could not implement it. We are doing it ? So we are not developed.
Even in administration, we have with us people with integrity like Sheshan and Khairnar. Even though our politician are the most corrupt in the world our country is developing because our adminstration is in working condition. When England left Nigeria they gave them Best Railways. Now you can't find it their. But in India the Railways is expanding. We have completed the Konkan Railway which is biggest in the 20th Century in the world. It is because we have people like E. Sridharan,, We can built world's best supersonic missile "Bramhos" as we have Institutes Like DRDO with visionary people. We have our own "Param" Computer and recently lounched "Eka" by Tatas. Even our spiritual gurus are not behind, if you see "Ramdev Baba" and Sri Sri Ravishankar. They are also inspiring the nation to wake up and everybody is responding. Finally, I will come to our ex - president, Hon. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who ignited the minds of millions of youths like you and me. A role model for every Indian. For me too. I have decided for myself that I will not keep a stone unturned to make this country a super power. My friends the answer lies their. For me the journey has already begun. Decide where you want yourself to be and please act fast.
